My name is Gemma Brown, I am from Stafford, in the heart of Staffordshire UK. I am an ex International Football and Hockey player and competed in a number of sports at the International Level. I competed for England in Javelin and 3000m. I appeared as a special guest at Athletics Academy sessions as I now compete internationally in Triathlons (GB Age Group).

Athletics is important to be because it gave me the aerobic endurance baseline and strength which fed into my International career. I love watching all of the Athletics, my favourite would have to be the Javelin of course, meeting Steve Backley was a huge highlight of mine when I was presented my Athlete of the Year Award.
