Coach Katie

Hi, I’m Coach Katie! I started as a coach at  Athletics Academy at the beginning of 2024. I’m from a island called the Isle of Man but I have grown up here in Abu Dhabi. Growing up in a very sporty and competitive household athletics has been a huge part of my life. It has taught me about independence and helped build my confidence especially when having moved to a new country.

Sprinting to long distance I have tried it all from being a 200m sprinter to becoming a middle distance runner and loving an 800m run. I have competed in a many events over the years one of them being the BSME games here in the Middle East which I have competed in since I was 10 all the way to now and have gained many medals over the years. I will never forget getting 1st in 200m when I was 12 making me the fastest U13 female runner in British schools across the Middle East and that was one of the moments that made me fall in love with training to achieve my very best.
Mohammed Aman from Ethiopia is someone I take inspiration from. As he is middle-distance runner who specifically runs the 800 meters. He has achieved remarkable success, winning gold at the World Championships in 2013. His dedication to his running and his training as well as  his ability to compete at the highest level make him a true inspiration. One of the reasons I was inspired to become a coach was because I wanted to help others become the best versions of themselves and be able to achieve the highest possibilities.
